Roche Winery Takes Home 3 Gold Medals in SF Chronicle Competition
We are proud to announce that Roche Winery and our Winemaker, Michael Carr, were awarded three Gold Medals at this year’s prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition! In the extremely competitive Chardonnay categories, the 2016 Roche Carneros Chardonnay and 2016 Roche Carneros French Oak Reserve Chardonnay were both awarded Gold Medals. In addition, our 2016 Roche Carneros American Oak Reserve Chardonnay is in very select company as it was awarded a Double Gold Medal, whereby the Chardonnay wine judges unanimously selected our Chardonnay as a Gold Medal-caliber wine.
Congratulations to our Winemaker, Michael Carr, for another very successful year of awards in 2018. Roche Winery has now captured 31 Gold Medals in this competition in the last 12 years alone. When asked about his continual success in this competition, Michael replied, “It is always nice to be rewarded for the work you do, and particularly exciting when you receive Gold Medals for all three Chardonnays. I have always enjoyed drinking Chardonnays from Carneros!”
Our staff will be sharing our Gold Medal award winners with the public at this year’s Public Tasting on February 17th at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco…we hope to see you there!
