All Hands on Deck for Our Pinot Bottling!
The Roche team was very busy yesterday bottling our premium label pinot noirs. Both our 2016 Longford Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir and our 2016 Tipperary Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir were bottled on the crush pad of our soon-to-be-completed winery in southern Sonoma. An impressive operation, the crew was able to bottle, foil and pack over 3,000 bottles per hour!
It required an “all hands on deck” effort with Winemaker Michael Carr directing the operation, Assistant Winemaker Steve Bowen manning the forklift, members of our winery’s back office team pitching in where needed…and even owners Mara Roche and Carrie Roche working the bottling line as well.
Was it a successful bottling? When Michael was asked how the bottling went, he replied with a grin, “The glass showed up on time, the labels went on straight, we dodged the rain and any disasters…so, I am happy. Yes, it was definitely a successful bottling!” After everyone’s hard work, the team was treated to a home-cooked meal by Mara Roche. To everyone’s delight, she served up hearty portions of her homemade jambalaya and salad sending the staff home content and with their bellies full!
