Is it Spring Yet?

by brendan roche

My January 2023 wine club article spoke of the wild new names our weather personalities had for the very wet winter we were experiencing. Well, now into the third week of March, those “Atmospheric Rivers” and “Winter Bomb Cyclones” continue to pound the Bay Area and Wine Country. As we are so pleased with all this wet weather we were so desperately in need of, at this point with it now early Spring, if an atmospheric river or cyclone comes up in conversation or in the forecast, it will probably be met with an eye roll and question of “when will this end?” Although we are quite a bit water logged, we remain very grateful for this very wet winter we have had to replenish our drought ravished aquifers and wine country water supply. However, Spring is here, teasing us with a few days here and there of its beautiful weather offerings and we are so looking forward to what this Spring and Summer will bring.

Our team has been busy planning our busy spring and summer schedule with fun and unique offerings for our club members and guests. For those that missed our most recent successful hosting of our “Paint and Sip” night, don’t worry, by popular demand it will be back soon. More is in store, with our upcoming Mother’s Day Brunch, Yoga in the vineyard, and pop-ups by locally popular food trucks and specialty pizza kitchens. We hope you can join us at these events, most especially, at our upcoming club event, the annual Roche Spring Fling. Hopefully our April showers will showcase amazing May flowers for this event, where we will be offering barrel tasting, current release tasting, and delicious food pairing by my sisters Carrie and Mara and their Aunt Momo’s Catering team.

Please enjoy this second club shipment of 2023, hopefully bringing to you some great wines to enjoy with some beautiful spring weather. We all look forward to seeing you soon, either at our tasting room or at some of these upcoming fun events!
